Welcome to Vat Calculator (vat-calculator.online). These Terms & Conditions set out the rules for using this website. By visiting the site or using any of our calculators, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.
Using the Calculators and Content
We provide free VAT calculators and guidance for visitors in the United Kingdom. The tools are designed to make everyday VAT sums (adding VAT to a price, stripping VAT out, working out VAT from a gross figure) quick and simple. You don’t need an account, and there’s no charge for using them.
Estimates, not professional tax advice
Our calculators produce estimates based on the figures you enter and the standard UK VAT rates. They are not a substitute for professional tax or financial advice. Everyone’s tax position is different, and the rules around VAT — including which goods and services qualify for reduced or zero rates — can be complicated. Before you act on a figure from this site, especially for a business return or an invoice, please check with HMRC or a qualified accountant.
Accuracy
We work hard to keep the calculators and articles accurate and up to date, but VAT rates and rules change, and mistakes can slip through. We don’t guarantee that any figure produced by this site is correct or complete, and you use the results at your own risk. Where it matters — tax returns, contracts, pricing — always verify the numbers independently.
Acceptable Use
We want this site to stay useful and safe for everyone. You agree not to:
- use the site in any way that breaks UK law or the rights of others;
- try to disrupt the site, its servers, or its security, including hacking, scraping at abusive volumes, or introducing malware;
- copy large portions of the site’s content and republish it as your own;
- misrepresent the site or its calculators, for example by implying that we endorse your products or services.
If we reasonably believe you’re misusing the site, we may restrict or block your access to it.
Intellectual Property
Unless stated otherwise, the text, design, and layout of this website belong to us (or to our licensors) and are protected by copyright. You’re welcome to use the calculators for your own personal or business calculations, and you may link to our pages. You may not reproduce, distribute, or republish our content without permission, except for short quotations with clear credit and a link back to the original page.
External Links
We sometimes link to other websites, such as HMRC or official guidance, because we think they’re helpful. We have no control over the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of external sites, and linking to them doesn’t mean we endorse them. If you follow one of these links, you’re subject to that site’s own terms and policies.
Limitation of Liability
The site and its calculators are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we won’t be liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or from any figure it produces, including, but not limited to, incorrect VAT calculations, tax penalties, or business decisions made on the basis of our content. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under consumer law or excludes liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example if we add new tools or the law changes. The current version will always be published on this page with the date it was last updated. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from them or from your use of the site will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
